Create WorkBook from Start Screen
When you start Excel, you are taken to a Start screen which lists recently used files and templates that can be used as a starting point for a new workbook.
To create a blank workbook, choose “Blank workbook” on the Start screen.
The new blank workbook named Book1 is displayed and by default contains one worksheet named Sheet1.
Create Workbook When in Excel
We previously created a Workbook from the Start screen. You can also create a new workbook within Excel whenever you like.
1. Click the File tab
2. Click “New”
3. Click “Blank workbook”
The new blank workbook, Book2, is displayed.
Create Workbook Shortcut
The shortcut to create a new workbook is Ctrl+N
